Affiliate disclosure

Every product link on this site points at a path on our own domain that looks like /go/amazon rather than directly at the retailer. Clicking it sends you through our server, which adds our affiliate tag and forwards you to the retailer.

There are two reasons for doing it that way and neither of them is tracking you. The first is maintenance: when a link needs updating - a discontinued model, a better destination - we change one registry entry rather than editing dozens of pages, which means fewer broken links. The second is measurement: we can see which pages produce clicks, which tells us which pages to keep updated.

The redirect adds our Amazon Associates tag, which is mmg-psihose-20. That tag is how Amazon knows the visit came from here. Those redirect paths are excluded from search engines and from our sitemap, because they are plumbing rather than content.

You will not find a price anywhere on Psi & Hose. Every buy control reads 'Check price on Amazon' instead of showing a number.

This is deliberate. Prices in this category move constantly, and a site showing a figure it captured weeks ago is showing you something that is probably wrong. Worse, the Amazon Associates operating requirements are specific about how current displayed prices must be, and a stale number is a compliance problem as well as a bad experience.

The site is built so that live prices can switch on later - the price layer exists and is wired through every buy control - but until there is a verified live feed, no number appears. We would rather send you to check than tell you something we cannot stand behind.

Ranking order. Picks on this site are ordered by the cheapest unit that genuinely clears a job's published CFM demand plus a documented margin. Commission rates are not an input to that calculation, and the formula is published in full on our methodology page.

You do not have to take that on trust, because the content is checkable against it. The top pick on our car tires page is a 12V inflator rather than a compressor. Several pages tell you to buy an electric sander or an electric drill, on which we earn nothing. Multiple roundups contain a section arguing you should spend less than you were planning to. A site optimizing for commission would not contain any of that.

What commission does affect is which retailers we can link to at all. At launch that is Amazon only, because it is the program we are part of. If a manufacturer's direct store is genuinely better for you on price, stock or warranty, we will say so in the text even where we cannot earn from it.
