Editorial information for general guidance, built from manufacturer-published specifications and published engineering references. It is not professional engineering advice, not electrical advice, and not a substitute for the documentation that came with your equipment.

We have not bench-tested any product on this site. Every specification is the figure its manufacturer publishes, dated to September 2026 and linked on the page. Manufacturers revise spec sheets, so if a figure here disagrees with the manufacturer's current sheet, the manufacturer's figure is the correct one.

Our scores are computed from published specifications by a formula set out on our methodology page. They are an editorial weighting of documented figures, not a test result and not a prediction of how long a product will last.

A compressed air system is a pressure vessel connected to hoses and tools. Tanks that are never drained corrode from the inside. Hoses rated below the pressure they carry can fail. Compressed air directed at skin or eyes causes serious injury. Air tools are loud enough to damage hearing - one impact wrench on this site publishes 99 dBA.

Follow the documentation that came with your equipment, use eye and hearing protection, drain your tank, and never exceed a component's published pressure rating. Where our pages carry figures like a filter's maximum operating pressure, those are there for a reason.

Electrical work - adding a circuit, installing a 240V outlet, changing a breaker - is governed by the National Electrical Code and in most places requires a licensed electrician and a permit. We publish compressor voltage and current figures so you can take them to an electrician. We do not publish wiring guidance and are not qualified to.
