This policy covers this website only. It does not cover Amazon or any other retailer you reach by clicking a link here - those sites have their own policies and we have no visibility into or control over their data practices.
In practice, very little
What we collect
- Analytics data via Google Analytics 4, if it is enabled on this site. That covers pages viewed, approximate location at a country or region level, device and browser type, and how you arrived. It is aggregate traffic data rather than anything that identifies you by name.
- What you type into the contact form: your name, email address, chosen subject and message. Nothing else, and only when you submit it.
- Standard server request logs kept by our hosting provider, which include IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.
- A rate-limit counter keyed to your IP address, held in memory on the server for up to an hour, used only to stop the contact form being flooded.

What we do not collect
- We do not have user accounts, logins or profiles. There is nothing to register for.
- We do not sell or rent any data to anyone, in any form.
- We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels or third-party ad trackers on this site.
- We do not use a captcha service, so no captcha vendor receives data about you. Our spam defense is a hidden form field, a timing check and a rate limit, all handled on our own server.
- We do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold on this site.
What is set
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own. If Google Analytics 4 is active, it sets its own cookies to distinguish visits and sessions. You can block them with your browser settings or an extension, and the site works normally with them blocked.
We use analytics to see which pages are read and which buy links are clicked, because that tells us which pages to keep updated. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we have no interest in doing so.
Google is an independent controller of the data its analytics collects. Its own privacy terms apply to that processing.
What happens when you click
Affiliate links
Product links on this site route through a path on our own domain that adds our Amazon Associates tag and forwards you to the retailer. That redirect does not set a cookie and does not store anything about you on our side.
Amazon may set its own cookies once you arrive, which is how it attributes a purchase to this site. That is Amazon's processing under Amazon's policies, and we receive only aggregate commission reporting - never your identity, your order contents, or your payment details.

How messages are handled
The contact form
Messages are sent to our own inbox by email, through Microsoft Graph. They are not stored in a database on this site, because this site has no database.
We keep messages in that inbox for as long as they are useful - usually to act on a correction and confirm it is fixed. We do not add you to any mailing list; there is no mailing list.
If you want a message deleted, email contact@psiandhose.com and we will delete it.
Access and deletion
Your rights
Email contact@psiandhose.com to ask what we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Since the only thing we are likely to hold is a contact-form message you sent us, this is usually a quick request to handle.
Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights over your personal data. We will honor any such request we receive regardless of where you are, because the practical effect is the same either way and it is simpler than checking.
Age
Children
This site is aimed at adults buying tools and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something through the contact form, tell us and we will delete it.
Updates
Changes to this policy
If what we collect changes, this page changes, and the modified date at the top changes with it. We do not re-date this page for cosmetic edits, for the same reason we do not re-date articles - a date that moves without the content moving is not information.
